Ryan Day’s offense is solid. We all know that. Perhaps the only concern is Stroud’s occasional high throws, but that is something he can fix.
For the second week in a row, Stroud found himself to be Big Ten Offensive Freshman of the Week. Early in the season, he already has 778 passing yards and 7 touchdowns.
Miyan Williams was quiet against the Ducks and will look to improve on the 14 carries for 77 yards from last week.
Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson and Jaxon Smith-Njigba will once again be the main targets for Stroud and should break the game open today.
The defense should be the topic of discussion. Not because of the talent, there is plenty of that!
Kerry Coombs has once again disappointed as a defensive coordinator. The scheme was not working last weekend and any necessary adjustments needed at halftime were not made.
When Jeff Hafley was the coordinator in 2019, prior to becoming the head coach at Boston College, the silver bullets were flying around the field.
The job of Coombs should be on the line this season after the disappointing performance against Alabama in the National Championship, then the loss to Oregon where the run left with the crackback block scored three touchdowns for the Ducks.
The Golden Hurricanes should see some blitzes today rather than Ohio State sitting back and only rushing four. Make Brin think and force him to read lots of movement pre-snap.
