Cole McDaniel Named VP Of Operations For Kee On Sports Media Group

Kee On Sports Media Group is pleased to announce Cole McDaniel has accepted the role as Vice President of Operations. In this role Cole will be chief advisor to Vince McKee and also continue to oversee the Live Game Call production.

Cole comes to Kee On Sports Media Group with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in from Baldwin Wallace University. He had a major in Broadcasting and Mass Communications with a Minor in Business Management.

With Baldwin Wallace he has served as a commentator for football, wrestling, men’s and women’s soccer, basketball and lacrosse. He recently served as the play by play man for the Women’s Division III Tournament held at BW for the first and second rounds.

In his time serving as an intern with Channel 19 News Sports he shadowed sports anchors and photographers, wrote stories, fact checked information, performed practice sportscasts and stand ups. He also set up interviews for Game of the Week and created prep notes for Game of the Week as well.

Cole explains here why he decided to take on the role, “Not only is Vince a dear friend, but he has a great vision with his company. He has found a niche market in covering high school sports around the Cleveland area, an area filled with plenty of talent. In addition to the high school sports coverage, KEE On Sports offers flexibility and a wide range of opportunities.

From web content, to game calls, to podcasts, Vince has found a way to do so much in such a short amount of time. I accepted the position of Vice President of Operations because I want to greatly assist in the rapid growth of this company. I want the quality of game calls to greatly improve with additions of new equipment as we take large strides in the right direction.

Lastly, not only am I a sports broadcaster and journalist, but I minored in business management and built a news program from the ground up at 106.9 The Bull in Urbana, Ohio. Establishing a structure and defining clear roles is crucial to the growth of KEE On Sports. I see us already taking great strides in that direction.”

As mentioned, McDaniel takes over this role with a plethora of experience in which he talks about here, “As most already know, I am a former college soccer player for Baldwin Wallace University. My career as an athlete taught dedication, hard work and perseverance.

I know how to work with a team in high pressure situations. As a broadcaster, I have experience with game calls for soccer, football, basketball, baseball, wrestling and lacrosse. I have also recently been on the call for the first and second rounds of the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Tournament.

I have been blessed with the ability to remember names, stats and other information quite quickly and that greatly helps with game calls. Even going back to my high school days, I worked on NFL and NBA mock drafts each year. Sports are not just a passion but I live and breathe sports.”

While the sports world craves action to begin again, the staff of Kee On Sports refuses to sit back and rest. We have big plans, and those are ones that McDaniel will be vital in the development and execution of. He takes that role very seriously, “Once we return to normal and athletic events begin to happen again, KEE On Sports will be right out there offering quality coverage. It will be better than ever. We are at the mercy of the actual leagues but I am hopeful that we see athletics back this summer and at minimum by this fall. We will offer coverage of both the NFL and NBA drafts.

Not only will there be stories and mock drafts, but also live podcasts during the actual programming. In the fall, we will have a game of the week for high school football where the new sound board with headsets will be used. That game will be broadcast live with playback ability as well. Our goal is to have three other recorded games from that night. Four football games per week will offer some great reach in coverage. Every step taken is a massive stride in the right direction and we will continue to do that.”

The biggest switch for Kee On Sports continues to be live games calls, this one move will continue to put us on the map. McDaniel was responsible for this move initially and explains why it is so important moving foreword, “Recorded games are good for parents and players who want to go back and listen. We will increase the amount of listeners we get with the live calls.

Those who cannot attend the game will care more about hearing it while the game is happening than after finding out the result. Calling one live game pushes KEE On Sports in several possible directions.

The company can switch programs in the future and go to several live radio games with the right equipment, or an investment in cameras can be made in the distant future so the games can be viewed as well. Those are dreams but can be made possible over time. I hope the staff and fans are excited for the live calls because I certainly am!”

Kee On Sports doesn’t look at his young age as a weakness, but rather a strength. We are thrilled to have someone so in touch with the current sports world and how media works. He will bring a ton of ideas and the youthful energy needed to succeed.

He had this to say as to what his biggest challenge may be as some may not see it that way, “The biggest challenge for me in many ways is my age. I am looked at as young with only being 22. Despite my age, I am extremely serious about this industry. I am experienced for my age and I am confident in my abilities as a broadcaster, writer and leader. Others may doubt me and that’s okay. I will overcome that with my work ethic and my attention to detail. I expect quality work and effort put into KEE On Sports. “

The future is now at Kee On Sports Media Group and the days ahead will be bright!
