Cold Pizza: The 15 Most Shocking Moments In Pro Wrestling History

Hulk Hogan as a bad guy?

At the WCW Bash At The Beach PPV in July of 1996, Hulk Hogan shocked the world by turning “evil” and joining the New World Order. Hogan had been the top good guy for 14 straight years, and the symbol of Americana when it came to professional wrestling.

He double crossed Macho Man, Sting and Lex Luger to join the Black and White.  As far as “scripted” moments go, this one may be the biggest shocker of all time.

The New World Order would go on to become the greatest heel faction in pro wrestling history. Ironically enough, all 3 wrestlers that he double crossed that night, Luger, Sting and Macho Man, would all eventually join the faction as well.

It got to the point in 1998 that almost no one was left to fight it in WCW other then DDP, Booker T and Goldberg. Had Hogan not joined in 1996, who knows how big the angle would have gotten without his name?  It was major!
