Cobra Kai
Season Four Episode Two Recap
To me, this should have been the premier episode because it is damn good! Robby finally agrees to join Cobra Kai full time and decides to teach the students the way of Miyagi Do. Reason being, they need to learn it so they can defeat it.
At the same time, Daniel starts teaching the way of Miyagi Do to Johnny as they agree to learn each other’s disciplines to hopefully understand each other better. It makes for some comical moments but at the same time shows they can work together.
As for Daniel learning Johnny’s methods, that is just hilarious as we thought it would be. The climax of those teachings coming in a full-scale hockey fight between Daniel and about 5 thugs. Johnny watches the madness while eating a soft pretzel, just to add to the hilarity.
It turns out that Shawn “the giant African American gentlemen who gave Robbie the beatings of a lifetime in juvi” has a younger brother who is just trying to adjust to a new school. Kenny is the young man’s name and he seems like a great little kid. The only problem is that the youngest LaRusso “Anthony” is now hazing him with his friends. Young Anthony seems conflicted about it, but continues to torment with the aid of his friends taunting and peer pressure.
What did we learn?
The ways of Miyagi Do are so peaceful and profound, they can even be taught to people as angry and stuck in their ways as Johnny. Also, who the heck saw Daniels son becoming an asshole? The typical rich kid, spoiled and entitled. I cannot say I’m shocked, but there’s a profound reason they are introducing us to these new characters, time will tell how it all plays out.
