Cleveland, OH-Chase Robinson has been named the Horizon League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced today. Robinson takes home the honor after a big game on Thursday night in Cleveland State’s win over Purdue Fort Wayne.
Robinson tied his career high scoring 20 points in Cleveland State’s 68-58 road victory. He scored 11 in the second half to help the Vikings maintain a halftime lead and close out the win. Robinson shot 60 percent from the field and made 3-of-5 from three-point range.
He connected on all five of his free throw attempts. In addition, he added six rebounds and a steal to his stat line for the night.
The Vikings have won 13 consecutive games, a streak that is currently tied for second in the country. Cleveland State has not lost since December 5 and carries that streak into Wednesday’s game at Northern Kentucky. A win at NKU would tie the program record of 14 consecutive victories.
Robinson earns his first league weekly award and this marks the seventh league weekly award for Cleveland State this season.
