The Chicago Cubs bullpen has struggled mightily the last few seasons and they decided to make a move today in which they hope will turn things around. They acquired Eli Morgan from the Cleveland Guardians for cash and a player to be named later.
This is a big addition for Chicago as Morgan has posted a 3.97 ERA and 104 ERA+ across his 161 outings and 19 starts that spanned 265.1 innings pitched over his 4 seasons in Cleveland.
An even brighter note for Chicago is that Morgan is coming off the best season of his career with a 1.93 ERA . The only hinderance for Morgan was two separate trips to the injured list because of right shoulder and elbow inflammation.
More on this in the coming days….
