The Cleveland Browns had a main point of focus during the NFL Draft; to beef up the defense. They did just that by selecting five defensive players with their eight draft picks.
Earlier this week, EA Sports released the ratings of the 2019 rookie class. The list of ratings includes all nine Browns rookie players– including two of their undrafted rookies.
It’s pretty rare for rookies to start the season off with an overall rating above an 80. This year, defensive tackle Quinnen Williams enters the 2019 season with the top overall rating of all rookies, with an 80 overall rating. Here is the complete list of overall ratings for the nine Browns rookies:
- CB Greedy Williams: 73
- LOLB Sione Takitaki: 70
- FS Sheldrick Redwine: 66
- K Austin Seibert: 66
- LG Drew Forbes: 64
- MLB Mack Wilson: 64
- LE Wyatt Ray: 62
- CB Donnie Lewis Jr. : 61
- QB David Blough: 48
For some of these rookies, their ratings will change throughout the course of the season. Just take a look at Denver Broncos running back Philip Lindsay. He was hit with a rating of 69 before the season and finished with an impressive 84 OVR rating after running for 1,037 yards on 192 carries for nine touchdowns.
Greedy Williams and Sione Takitaki lead the way for Cleveland rookies heading into a season with lofty expectations after an off-season of change. There’s a lot to prove out on the football field for these rookies in order to contribute to a Browns team that has the attention of many throughout the NFL.
