Cleveland Browns Possess Clear Path To #1 Overall Pick in 2025 NFL Draft

It is hard to believe that just 6 short weeks ago after a thrilling snow filled prime time victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers which had Cleveland Browns fans hopeful has led to utter disappointment and nonstop sadness ever since. Let’s be honest with ourselves, I think we all thought by the time the three year NFL Draft First round sabbatical was over from the Deshaun Watson trade, that the Browns would be near the end of the draft, if not fresh off of a SuperBowl. Oh how wrong we all were with that hope.

However, sometimes in life we do get a do over, and now the Browns remarkably have yet another chance at drafting a franchise quarterback in the first round of the NFL Draft. They may have squandered it with Tim Couch, Brady Quinn, Johnny Manziel, Brandon Weeden and Baker Mayfield, this time around who knows, they may hit it. And to be honest, I feel Baker Mayfield was the right pick at the time as no one in 2018 saw Josh Allen becoming what he has, or the late resurgence of Sam Darnold out of nowhere.

Still, even with all of that said, if the Browns do pick a QB first overall, it will most likely be one of these three options below:

Cam Ward: YDS 4,313/ TD 39/ INT 7 /QBR /88.8 1st
Jalen Milroe: YDS 2,652/ TD 15/ INT 10/ QBR 82.8 8th
Shedeur Sanders: YDS 4,134/ TD 37/ INT 10/ QBR 75.7 21st

Hit or miss, the fact remains they still have to move up two more spots in front of the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans just to get there. It may seem unlikely but I actually see it happening, and here is why.

The Titans host the Texans and are actually a favorite to win. Houston had the fourth seed locked up and cannot move up, so they will be resting everyone while Tennessee wants to finish strong for first year head coach Callahan. They have shown flashes recently and moving back a few spots in the NFL draft won’t kill their future. They will play to win and I won’t be shocked one bit if they pull it off.

As for the New England Patriots, they host Buffalo. Now, I will admit, this is a TALL task as New England has been in full tank mode for weeks. However, same scenario here, Buffalo has the two seed locked up and cannot grab the one, so they will be resting everyone themselves. Also, the Patriots are going to want to finish strong for head coach Jerod Mayo who has proven to be a players coach and that is why he got the job in the first place.

The Browns just need to lose, and rest assured they will as they travel to Baltimore who will be going full tilt as a win hands them the AFC North and the third overall seed without having to wait and see what Pittsburgh does at Cincy on Sunday.
It may be a long shot, but let’s see if the Browns FINALLY get some luck!
