Cleveland Browns Must Face Eventual Question

Per Kevin Stefanski, Joe Flacco has been named the Week One Starter versus Cincinnati at home.  Kenny Picket will be listed as QB2 on that same depth chart.  There hasn’t been a firm decision made on who will be the emergency or practice squad quarterback that same week, but the smart money is on Shedeur Sanders who had a strong performance against Carolina earlier this month.\

While all of this is well and good, it still doesn’t erase the fact that they are paying Deshaun Watson over 250 Million dollars not to play.  Word has it that his recovery is almost complete with a torn Achilles and Watson is looking in strong form during private workouts. If that is truly the case, how much longer will the Browns stick it out with the Flacco / Pickett combination before giving Watson one more go?

When Watson went down at the end of last season, it was assumed he’d miss the entire 2025 campaign.  Now, it is looking likely that he may be ready to go following the Cleveland Browns BYE Week in 10.  If so, and the Browns are 3-6 by that point, or even 2-7, why not give him one more shot?
