Cleveland Browns Free Agent WR Targets

David Bell retired before the season began.  Jerry Jeudy couldn’t catch a pass all year and proved he was not a number one option.  Cedric Tillman got hurt midseason and never truly recovered. The bulk of the big pass completions went to rookie tight end Harold Fannin jr who had 72 catches for 731 yards and 6 touchdowns.  He was easily the leader in every receiving category the Browns had.

With that being the case, David Njoku already announcing his departure and the odd’s of them keeping Jeudy slim, the Browns are looking at a total overhaul at wideout.  They will be able to address some of it in the draft with multiple early round picks, but they also need to spend money on that position in the free agent class as well.

Here now are just a few players they need to look into signing.

Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Pro of this addition – Evans brings big play ability, consistent production and warrior mentality to a position that requires it.  He would also bring size to the WR room in Cleveland which they haven’t had in many years.

Chances of him coming to Cleveland – Extremely slim, he can continue to produce huge numbers if he stays in Tampa Bay or even goes somewhere else that has a good quarterback.

George Pickens, Dallas Cowboys

Pro of this addition – He showed in his one year in Dallas how good he can actually be after not living up to the hype in Pittsburgh.

Chances of him coming to Cleveland – Slim and he is a cancer in the locker room, maybe not the best choice.

DeAndre Hopkins, Baltimore Ravens

Pro of this addition – Big play ability, veteran leadership and great hands.  He still has speed and can make plays downfield as well.

Chances of his coming to Cleveland – Good to pretty good. Cleveland has flirted with the idea of bringing him in before and now the price tag is a lot lower.

Deebo Samuel, Washington Commanders

Pro of this addition – He was a standout in SF before getting hurt and never really had a chance to show anything in Washinton because they had their own QB injury issues. He’d be a nice fit in Cleveland.

Chances of him coming to Cleveland – Strong, I actually see this one happening as they have played with the idea before of trading for him and this would be a straight up signing.

Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins

Pro of this addition – Perhaps the biggest boom or bust of all the players out there.  He still has the biggest skill set out there, but at the same time, can explode a locker room quickly with off the field antics.

Chances of him coming to Cleveland – Highly doubtful.

 Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Chargers

Pro of this addition – Veteran leadership and a proven track record of success when he can stay healthy.

Chances of him coming to Cleveland – If the money is right, I wouldn’t be shocked by this one.

Other Possible candidates….

Jauan Jennings, San Francisco 49ers

Jakobi Meyers, Jacksonville Jaguars

Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers
