With just three healthy running backs practicing in full pads Saturday afternoon, the Cleveland Browns signed rookie A.J. Ouellette and waived T Ka’John Armstrong in order to make room.
Originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Saints, Ouellette was waived by the team May 28 and now makes his way to Cleveland. The signing of Oullette adds another healthy running back to the team that’s already thin. Duke Johnson, Kareem Hunt and Trayone Gray all are not practicing due to injury.
The 5-foot-9, 208-pound running back enters the league after playing the last five years at Ohio University, where he ended his career with 719 carries, 3,839 rushing yards and 32 touchdowns. He is a native of Covington, Ohio and a graduate of Covington High School in 2014.
