OC Todd Monken’s play-calling
Tuesday afternoon, Freddie Kitchens explained on his radio show that offensive coordinator Todd Monken will call some plays during Thursday night’s preseason finale. Here’s what Kitchens had to say on the Cleveland Browns Radio Network:
“I haven’t really dully decided, but I know Todd will call some of them. Some of it depends on what we do at the quarterback situation initially, but he’ll definitely get the opportunity.”
As the offensive coordinator and play-caller last year in Tampa Bay, Monken helped lead the Bucs to the No. 1 passing team in the league, accumulating a total of 5,125 yards through the air. With no starters playing, Kitchens appears to let Monken free a bit, getting his shot to finally call some plays and see what tricks he has up his sleeves.
