- Establish the run early on
As mentioned before, the 49ers bring one of the league’s toughest defensive fronts onto the field Monday night. Optimism rests with the Browns as Nick Chubb is coming off of one of the best games of his career last week. Against the Ravens, Chubb ran for 165 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries.
Head coach Freddie Kitchens even went into his bag of tricks last week with a handful of plays that featured Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry running the ball. The Browns will be the most talented rushing attack the 49ers will have faced up to week five, so a successful start to the game running the ball can surely open things up in the passing game moving forward.
Containing players like Joey Bosa, Kwon Alexander, DeForest Buckner and Dee Ford certainly won’t be an easy task to do Monday night. With the way guys like Joel Bitonio, Eric Kush and Chirs Hubbard have been blocking to start the year for the Browns, confidence in the running game has certainly shown through four weeks of the season and making sure the Browns set the tone early on the ground will be a key factor to look out for.
