Berea, OH – In the second game of the 2025 Cleveland Basketball Classic hosted by Baldwin Wallace University we had the Strongsville Lady Mustangs defeating the Holy Name Lady Green Waves 62-35.

The first quarter was a close defensive battle as both teams made it difficult for each other to score in a low-scoring quarter. Junior 5’3″ point guard Sidney Butera would lead the Mustangs hitting a three-pointer in the quarter as both teams focused on the defensive side of the floor. Holy Name’s 5’9″ junior forward Claire Coljohn would lead the Lady Green Wave in scoring with seven points in the quarter including hitting a three-pointer of her own as Holy Name held the narrow 8-7 at the end of the first

Strongsville’s 6’0″ freshman forward Parker Zwick would begin to make her impact on the game both with her defense and contributing offensively with four points in the quarter. In another low-scoring quarter, the biggest highlight for Holy Name was a wide-open three-pointer made by 5’4″ senior guard Emmalee Majoros as the Lady Green Waves held the slight 15-14 lead at halftime.

Through three, the matchup of Rudolph and Zwick was intriguing to watch as both players countered each other’s play. The score would remain close as Strongsville would hold a 35-29 advantage through three quarters.

The fourth quarter was when the Lady Mustangs really started getting stops and separating themselves on the scoreboard. Holy Name would struggle to get shots to fall as Strongsville went on a huge run behind guard Sidney Butera, who scored 12 in the quarter. Butera won her matchup early in the fourth, playing with a level of confidence on both ends of the floor that Holy Name would not be able to match.

The Lady Mustangs would blow the game open with another huge run, going up 20 points at 54-34. Once Strongsville’s lead was 20, they subbed their bench in with 2 minutes left, as their bench was able to help them secure the 62-35 win.
