Chris Protos Of Westlake Shuts Out North Olmsted 10-0

Chris Protos threw a shutout to lead Westlake Varsity Demons past North Olmsted Varsity Eagles 10-0 on Wednesday.

 

Hugh Sullivan led Westlake Varsity Demons to victory by driving in five runs.  Sullivan went 3-for-4 at the plate.  Sullivan drove in runs on a single in the first, a double in the second, and a single in the fifth.

 

Westlake Varsity Demons got on the board in the first inning when Sullivan singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

 

Westlake Varsity Demons scored three runs in the fifth inning.  Aidan Keir and Sullivan all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

 

A double by Dominic Costello in the first inning was a positive for North Olmsted Varsity Eagles.

 

Protos earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Westlake Varsity Demons. The fireballer went five innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out five.

 

Alex Meyer took the loss for North Olmsted Varsity Eagles. The righty lasted five innings, allowing 16 hits and ten runs while striking out one and walking zero.

 

Westlake Varsity Demons collected 16 hits on the day.  Sullivan, Cael Cipollone, Ivan Tucholski, Grant Tucholski, Michael Jatsyshyn, and Keir all managed multiple hits for Westlake Varsity Demons.  Cipollone and Sullivan each managed three hits to lead Westlake Varsity Demons.  Westlake Varsity Demons was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Tucholski made the most plays with  five.

The Demons are back at home tomorrow as they host Rocky River at 4:30 pm.
