AVON, OH –  Chardon traveled to the nest in Avon tonight to take a 10-5 victory from the Eagles.  They were led by Hat Tricks from Grace Darone and Stella Parrish.

Grace Herbert had a nice save in the early moments to keep it scoreless as action began. A few moments later however, Chardon had a free po that set them up in prime position to score, but the shot sailed north of the pipes. The Hilltoppers maintained possession however and eventually converted with a Grace Darone goal to open the scoring, 5 minutes in.

After another Darone goal made it 2-0 Hilltoppers, Grace Herbert made several nice saves to keep it close as the Eagles mounted a comeback attempt, it began with an Aleena Gallo goal with 16:04 to play in the first half. Back-to-back Hilltopper goals by Stella Parrish built the lead back out to two, at 4-1 with 12:48 remaining. The second one, an empty net goal off a free position.

Payton Platz, who was all over the field, got into the scoring mix with a goal at 11:31 to increase the lead too 5-1. Darone picked up her hat trick with 8:19 left in the first, as Chardon built the 6-1 lead. After falling behind 7-1, the Eagles received two goals by Isabella Intagliata and Ayla Perez to close the gap to 7-3 before a Platz goal gave the Hilltoppers an 8-3 lead at the break.

The Parrish hat trick opened the second half scoring for Chardon, as a set play in which she took a pass about 6 feet in front of Herbert, turned around and launched it in one swift move connected with 22 minutes left in the game. The score remained 9-3 Chardon, until Aya Perez of Avon used her wheels to fly down the field and make a beautiful spin move to score, cutting the lead to 9-4 with 7:53 left.  Perez was like a bolt of lightning flashing down the field in the blink of an eye.

The Perez scoring blitz wasn’t over yet, this kid can play folks, a straight up baller!  This time she blitzed the middle, got the one on one, and connected to cut the lead to 9-5 with 4:10 to play.

The Hilltoppers hung on for the 10-5 win.
