Step up to the plate and join us for a historic celebration presented by the
Baseball Heritage Museum at League Park as we begin the year-long
celebration Champions Awakened: A Tribute to the 1945 Cleveland
Buckeyes.
This will be a commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the
Cleveland Buckeyes and their victory in the 1945 Negro League World
Championship and the lasting impression they made on America’s Pastime.
We invite you to be part in remembering this historic occasion
on September 20, 2024 at the Music Box Supper Club as Dr. Louis Moore
explores the rich tapestry of People of Color in baseball history and the
Negro Leagues with his presentation Before the Barrier Broke: 1945, the
Cleveland Buckeyes and Black Ball.
Together, let’s honor the legacy of the Cleveland Buckeyes and their
triumph in the 1945 Negro League World Championships. From legendary
players to unforgettable moments, this event promises to be a grand slam
of nostalgia and appreciation for the game’s barrier breakers.
Your support will help the Baseball Heritage Museum preserve the stories
and spirit of those who paved the way for diversity and excellence in
baseball. Mark your calendars and join us as we swing for the fences in
celebration of this historic milestone!
