Cavs surge past Bulls, 144-126 for 14th Straight Win

That is right, the Cleveland Cavaliers have won once again! This time, making even more history as the night went on with its 14-0 start. What a win it was, as it also marked the longest winning streak in Cavaliers history as well.

Not ready to be done with the record-breaking stats? Well then good. To get this one started tonight, the Cavaliers also set a franchise record with having the most points scored in franchise history with 49 points. In the first quarter, the Cavs shot a whopping 19/22 on FG’s while going 7/10 from 3-point range.

Mind you, all of this is being done without Evan Mobley who was ruled out about an hour before tip-off with the flu. It would be the three big starters in Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, and Jarett Allen getting the big first quarter going, all with 11 or more points.

With a 15-point lead after one, this is where the Cavs seemed to take their foot off the gas and let the Bulls back into the game. The same thing happened just last Friday night with the Warriors at home.

This is an area the Cavs need to work on as they were outscored 39-28 in the second quarter and their lead was cut down to just four by halftime.

The Bulls hung around once again in the third quarter still giving the Cavs problems.

But Cleveland’s time finally came in the fourth quarter. Specifically Donovan Mitchell. Who had scored 18 of his 37 points in the fourth quarter alone. He also had 1 block, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to make it a typical night from Mitchell.

The Cavaliers would have their famously named Cavalanche, outscoring the Bulls 37-24 in the fourth quarter. And it would be too much for Chicago who falls to Cleveland for the second time in five days, 144-126.

Darius Garland had another monster night as well with 29 points, 3 rebounds, and 9 assists. Jarrett Allen racked up 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists for his 9th double-double of the season. Georges Niang filled in nicely starting in place for Mobley going for 14 points and 8 rebounds.

But most importantly, the Cavs arguably don’t get it done without Caris LeVert who accounted for 22 points, 3 rebounds, and 8 assists in 26 minutes off the bench. It was an all-around great win for the Cavs improving to an impressive 14-0 on the season.
