BW Yellow Jackets Win On Walk Off Kick Over Ohio Northern

ADA, Ohio – The No. 21 nationally-ranked Baldwin Wallace University football team won its final road game of the season as it held off Ohio Northern University in an Ohio Athletic Conference by a final score of 17-14 inside the Dial-Roberson Stadium.

BW (8-1, 7-1 OAC) improved to 31-14-1 in the all-time series with Ohio Northern (4-5, 3-5 OAC), including winning just its third game in Ada in its last seven trips.

Offensively for BW, senior Academic All-OAC quarterback Keagan Armitage (Ashland) completed 14-of-21 passes for 122 yards with one touchdown. Junior running All-OAC running back John Murray, Jr. (Cincinnati/Withrow) and junior running back DJ Griffus (Euclid/Lake Catholic) led the ground game as each rushed for 53 yards on 12 carries.  Murray, Jr. also had a touchdown.

Senior wideout Darius Stokes (Canton/GlenOak) led the receiving corps as he caught three passes for 63 yards.  Defensively, senior Academic All-OAC linebacker Nick Pankow (Medina) and junior linebacker Mason Levasseur (Panama City, Fla./South Walton) each seven tackles.

The Polar Bears were led by senior All-OAC quarterback Brody Hahn as he completed 14-of-28 passes for 159 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.  Senior All-American running back Brock Martin led the rushing attack as he rushed for 61 yards on 11 carries.

Senior All-OAC wideout Austin Eick led the receiving unit as he caught three passes for 63 yards with one touchdown. Defensively, sophomore linebacker Peyton Wilson had a game-high 18 tackles.

  • 2:31         Murray, Jr. 1-yard run (Junior kicker Dean Sarris (Canton/GlenOak) kick is good)

SECOND QUARTER (BW, 14-7)

  • 14:23       Cregan 7-yard pass from Armitage (Sarris kick is good)

THIRD QUARTER (BW, 17-14)

  • 10:38       Eick 34-yard pass from Hahn (DiFalco kick is good)
  • 1:29         Sarris game-winning 19-yard field goal

The Yellow Jackets closes out the regular season on Saturday, November 13 when it hosts an OAC, Seniors’ Day, Veterans Appreciation Day and 33rd Battle for the Gold Bowl Trophy game against crosstown rival John Carroll University on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium at 1 p.m.
