DELAWARE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women’s swimming and diving team win their first road meet against Ohio Wesleyan University in a non-conference dual meet at Ohio Wesleyan inside the Meek Aquatics and Recreation Center.
BW (6-0) won eight of the 11 events, had three runner-up finishers as it defeated Ohio Wesleyan by a final score of 114-100.
The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included:
Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Kayla McClintock (Venetia, Pa. / Peters Township) won the 1000-yard individual medley in a time of 11:52.91 and 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:46.87.
Sophomore Tia Reed (Bluffton, S.C.) placed third in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:24.54 and placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:11.61.
Freshmen Athena Pantoja (Ashtabula / Lakeside) placed third in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:08.40.
Junior All-OAC performer Julia Newbould (Strongsville) won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 25.86 seconds and 100-yard freestyle in a time of 57.32.
Freshmen Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor) won the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2.02.95 and the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:01.75.
BW relays were highlighted by:
The 400-yard medley team of Dondorfer, Reed, Pantoja and Newbould won in a time of 1:56.96.
The 400-yard freestyle unit of Sophomore Kate Wells (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Hills), sophomore Lauren Slife (Westfield Center / Cloverleaf), sophomore Emily Newcamp (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Hills) & McClintock took first in a time of 4:03.60.
The Yellow Jackets return to the pool on Saturday, November 5th as it hosts Penn State Behrend for a non-conference meet at BW Natatorium inside Lou Higgins Rec Center.
