DELAWARE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men’s swimming and diving team win their first road meet against Ohio Wesleyan University in a non-conference dual meet at Ohio Wesleyan inside the Meek Aquatics and Recreation Center.
BW (4-0) won nine of the 11 events, had five runner-up finishers as it defeated Ohio Wesleyan by a final score of 151.5 – 62.5.
The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included:
Freshmen Ethan McKinney (Indianapolis, Ind. / Herron) placed second in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:22.50.
Junior Austin Olsavsky (Medina) won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:50.01 and 100-yard freestyle in a time of 50.26.
Freshman Tyson Swihart (Sarasota, Fla. / Sarasota Military Academy) took second in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:10.84.
Freshmen Jason Tafoya (El Paso, Texas / El Paso) won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 56.57.
Freshman Austin Kingsley (Northport, N.Y.) won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:00.74
Freshman Tommie McQueary (Batavia/Bethel Tate) won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 53.30 and the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:02.66
Sophomore Mason Kooyman (Concord Township / Chardon) took first in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 23.11.
BW relays were highlighted by:
The 200-yard medley relay of Tafoya, McQueary, freshmen Luke Minick (Stow / Archbishop Hoban) and Kooyman won in a time of 1:42.58.
The 400-yard freestyle squad of Kingsley, Swihart, Olsavsky, freshmen Gavin Skwirut (Latrobe, Pa. / Greater Latrobe), won in a time of 3:22.34.
Diving for the Yellow Jackets was freshmen Jason Heisler (Saline, Mich. / Saline) as he won the 1-meter dive with 235.85 points.
The Yellow Jackets return to the pool on Saturday, November 5th as it hosts Penn State Behrend for a non-conference meet at BW Natatorium inside Lou Higgins Rec Center.
