The Browns have been looking for that signature win all season in which their highly talented offense would finally bust out. That happened today with a blowout 41-24 win over the Miami Dolphins in impressive fashion.

The Browns won their third straight game to improve their record to 5-6 and stay in the playoff hunt.

They excelled in both facets of the scoring attack as they ran and passed with ease. Baker Mayfield had his best game of the season going 24 of 34 for 327 yards and 3 touchdowns with just one interception. This also improved his season total to a respectable 14 touchdowns next to 13 interceptions.

This win puts the suddenly resurgent Browns right in the thick of the wildcard race. They are now just one game back of the Oakland Raiders, Tennessee Titans, and Indianapolis Colts who lead the log jam at 6-5 with Pittsburgh. If the Browns can beat Pittsburgh next week, they are sitting pretty.

OBJ had his best game as a Brown hauling in 6 catches for 84 yards and a touchdown. Former Dolphin Jarvis Landry torched his former team for 148 yards on 10 catches with 2 touchdowns. The only sore spot was Hollywood Higgins who caught zero balls once again, and only had 1 target.

The dynamic duo backfield of Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb also continued to take off and make the Browns a serious threat. Chubb rumbled for 106 yards on 17 carries with a touchdown. Hunt got his first rushing touchdown since suspension as he ran for 37 yards on 8 carries.

Chubb proved to a threat in the air game as well as he had 58 yards on 3 catches, including a big one on the opening drive to set the tone.

In a week where a lot of fans wondered how the defense would do without their two best pass rushers, they did well. Miami QB Ryan Fitzpatrick got sacked 4 times and was forced into two interceptions. He also had no help from his running backs as the three of them combined for only 43 yards.

The Browns jumped out to a huge 28-3 halftime lead after touchdown passes to Jarvis Landry (2), OBJ and a touchdown rush by Hunt. Miami began their ill-fated comeback and scored 17 straight points to close out the third quarter only trailing 28-17.

From there it was all Brown as they began to erase any doubt and flex their muscles when they needed to. After a couple of Austin Seibert field goals stretched the lead to 34-17, a Nick Chubb 165-yard touchdown run with 3:26 remaining put it away for good.

The Browns will look to improve to 6-6 as they travel to Pittsburgh who also won today. The Steelers used their backup quarterback Delvin Hodges to defeat Cincinnati 16-10. The Dolphins will host the Eagles who lost today to Seattle.

As far as the wildcard chase goes for that last spot, the Titans play the Colts so one of them will win and go to 7-5, so even if the Browns could defeat Pittsburgh again, they will still be a game back. The Raiders play in KC and will most likely drop to 6-6.
