Browns Fall Short to Eagles

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, the Browns fell to 1-5 after their loss against the Eagles yesterday. Injuries took their toll yet again with Jerome Ford, Elijah Moore, Mike Ford Jr., and Nick Harris, who was hurt three minutes into the game. It is hard to find any positives with this team. On a good note, the Browns were able to keep Philly’s scoreless first quarter streak intact. The Browns demonstrated a lack of effort, practice, and preparation.

Our leading scorer, Rodney McLeod Jr. isn’t even an offensive player, however, he leads the team with two touchdowns. In the second quarter, Myles Garrett blocked a 57 yard field goal attempt nearing the end of the half. Safety Rodney McLeod took the block back for a 50 yard touchdown. This was the only positive thing for Cleveland. Outside of that, Dustin Hopkins was our leading scorer with 10 points.

Penalties were a huge factor in the loss. Browns were flagged for seven penalties, five of which came in the second half. On the Browns last drive, three penalties ended what could have resulted in a touchdown. Amari Cooper was flagged for a face mask that pushed the Browns back to the 36. After another failed drive to put the ball in the endzone, Cleveland had to settle with a field goal. With Philly getting the ball back, the Browns defense had to step up. They did not, giving up a 40 yard pass to AJ Brown, sealing the game, and another loss.
