The Cleveland Browns hosted the Cincinnati Bengal’s in a “Win or your season is over” type game Halloween Night. After starting out the season a promising 2-1 with a Thursday Night Prime time win over their rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers, they dropped four straight games in agonizing fashion to the Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Chargers.

The most painful part of all of that was with the sole exception of the Patriots game, the Browns had the all in their hands with a chance to win the game in the final seconds.

The same could be said for their Week Two loss against the New York Jets. Each time ,they had a chance to win when the clock struck 00:00. They would leave nothing to chance on this night however with a commanding and dominant total team win over the Bengals by a score of 32-13.

After the first 25 minutes of the game proved to be a defensive lockdown as both teams failed to score, the Browns broke through with their stud back Nick Chubb on a 3 yard rush. They moved quarterback Jacoby Brissett out wide and slid Chubb into a Wildcat formation, as well as bringing in two extra offensive linemen.

The score came with 5:07 left in the half. Following the touchdown the Bengals jumped offsides on the ensuing extra point, so browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski decided to go for two points, which Chubb cashed in on again to make it 8-0. The Browns would add a 55 yard Cade York field goal to take a 11-0 lead into the second half.

The second half was all Browns as they scored on their first three possessions to put the game out of reach 32-6 about halfway through the third quarter thanks in part to touchdown runs from Chubb and Brissett along with a 4 yard touchdown pass to Amari Cooper.

On the night Nick Chubb ran for 101 yards on 23 carries with 2 scores while Brissett went 17 of 22 passing with a pick and a touchdown toss to Cooper. The win improved the Browns record to 3-5 on the season heading into a bye week, and only 3 more games until the debut of suspended quarterback Deshaun Watson.
