The Brooklyn Hurricanes 10U Baseball team won the league championship for the 2023 SWS Youth Recreation Travel League. They finished the regular season with a 7-0 record and overall finished 9-0 including 2 tournament wins.
The Hurricanes defeated North Olmsted Swensons 6-2 in the championship game played on July 17 at Brooklyn Memorial Field.
Team members: Ben Bundy, Blake Cart, Kevin Castro, Toby Folger, Evan Hritz, Parker Kerpics, Jonathan Parish, Mason Pointer, Reinny Reyes, Zamir Reyes, Radames Rivera-Biascochea, Samuel Santana, Yariel Torres, Tanner Van Kirk, Gabriel Velez.

Recreation Commissioner Comment: “Congratulations to these young athletes for representing the City of Brooklyn proudly. It was a great accomplishment in finishing the season undefeated and taking home the championship for the 2023 SWS Recreation Travel League.”
We would also like to give recognition to the Brooklyn Hurricanes 15U Softball team who made it to their championship game on Monday July 17 as well. They lost a 10-9 thriller vs. Rocky River but competed the entire game and throughout the season. The 15U Hurricanes had the best overall record in the regular season finishing 10-1 and won 1 tournament game before losing in the finals.
