Athens, Ohio- The Ohio University Bobcats took on the Bowling Green Falcons at the Convocation Center on January 11th. The Bobcats came out with a win against the Falcons, 85-78. Making them undefeated at their home court and a record of 13-2 this season. The Bobcats came off a great previous season and kept that momentum throughout this season.
The Bobcats obtained the tip-off and scored the first points of the game. Soon after the Bobcats started missing some key shots which resulted in the Falcons keeping a close distance behind them. The Falcons got as close as one point behind the Bobcats during the first half. The Bobcats struggled through the first half but maintained the lead at halftime 32-29, Ohio.
After halftime, the Bobcats came back into the game with a different mindset and changed the atmosphere of the game. The Bobcats were back in control of the ball and were scoring better. The Bobcats managed to win the game, 85-78 to keep their winning streak alive.
The leading scorers for the Bobcats were Jason Carter with 22 points and Mark Sears with 19 points. The Falcon’s leading scorers were Daeqwon Plowden and Myron Gordon both with 18 points.
This game against the Falcons was essential for the Bobcats to win, after coming off a great win against Kent State University on January 7th.
The Bobcats will be on the road again to verse Central Michigan on Saturday, where they will fight to keep their winning streak alive and bring home a victory to Ohio University.
