Big Ten Championship Recap: Just Give Trey the Ball

Cole’s Players of the Game

Offensive – Trey Sermon

The offensive line deserves a shout out because they dominated and opened up so many holes. Sermon took advantage of those and without a doubt deserved player of the game. He single handedly put the offense on his back and lit up the Northwestern run defense. Sermon has taken a backseat to Master Teague this season but today he took advantage of his opportunity. He will forever be remembered for this game and will be in the history books for many years to come. Topping Ezekiel Elliott and Eddie George for single game rushing yards is incredible. This was the performance of the year by any player.

Defensive – Justin Hilliard

Hilliard stepped in for a different linebacker this week. This time it was for Baron Browning and he once again shined. Hilliard tallied 9 total tackles (5 solo), 2 tackles for losses, 1 interception and recovered a fumble. Hilliard has performed when needed and has been an example for all athletes out there waiting for their shot.
