On June 30th Kevin Durant shocked the NBA when requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. Kevin has had a few options such as the Miami, Pheonix, and Golden state. Rumor has it Kevin could go to his previous team Golden state. Kevin was able to win 2 champions ships with the Golden State Warriors.
I’m sure there are going to be many teams going for Kevin Durant because he is obviously one of the best scores the game has ever seen, however the world wants to see Kevin in a good situation. These are actually some good landing spots for Kevin and were going to explain why.
Option 1 is the Pheonix Suns. This is a team that was in the NBA finals 2 years ago and was the number 1 team in the west and the number 1 team overall in the league. However, If the Pheonix Suns were able to acquire Kevin Durant they would have the potential to win the title.
If Kevin Durant chose the Suns, he could be the player that could give them the push over the hump to win a championship. the Suns have arguably the top 5 best point guard ever in Chris Paul and young Allstar in Devin Booker and star big man DeAndre Ayton. The team has been playing winning basketball the last 2 years and they want to win now.
Option 2 is the Golden State Warriors. Rumor has it that the possibility of Kevin Durant going back to Golden State. I feel that Golden State would be the least likely landing spot for Kevin. The Warriors would have to give up their young core that they just won a championship with this year. The Warriors have won with Kevin and without Kevin, so they don’t need him to win but if they were to get Kevin, they would win more rings again easily.
Option 3 which is my personal favorite is the Miami Heat. I believe is the best landing spot for Kevin. Miami is the readiest team and Miami was the number 1 team in the east. They were also 1 win away from their second champion ship appearance with the squad they have now.
Miami has a good young core and has a great franchise and winning culture with a nice bench. Also, the team has all-stars and NBA champions and a good balance of young guys and vets. Miami is also a great defensive team and has perimeter defense and rim protection. If Kevin Durant was to choose Miami Kevin wouldn’t have to go through the tough teams in the west.
I believe if Kevin Durant choses the Miami Heat they would be a powerhouse in the east and they would go get some jewelry. Kevin Durant has time to make his decision and all of the 3 teams have potential to win rings but only time will tell.
