Berea-Midpark went on the road tonight and captured a 63-28 victory over Beaumont School.  Kendall Braaten overcame a slow start to her night shooting to finish with a game high 15 points.  Braaten had plenty of good looks but couldn’t get the roll early on.  She did what all great shooters do however, and just kept finding her shot until it started dropping. She also had plenty of great passes finding one open shooter in the near corner after another.

We saw Lauren Yee began to heat up over the weekend against Amherst and she kept that up tonight against the Blue Steaks as she finished up with 11 points.  Freshmen’s Lauren Lantow, Grace Forgach and Rylee Szoja had a great night as they combined for over 20 points from the three of them.  While the freshmen shined, so did the Senior as Kierney Murphy poured in 10 herself in the blowout win.

The Titans came out strong in the first quarter to build a healthy lead.  They used runs of 4-0 and 13-0 to build a 17-3 lead just 5 minutes into the game.  The Titans would extend the lead to 20-8 by the quarters ends.  Junior sharp shooter Lauren Yee, stayed hot tonight with a scorching 9 first quarter points.  Lauren Lantow had 4 in the quarter while Kendall Braaten had 2. Courtney Simon and Rylee Szoja had 3 each.

Despite getting in the bonus less than 3 minutes into the second, Beaumont School could not take advantage and the Titans kept pouring on the offense.  They scored the first 15 points of the quarter, making it 35-8 with only two minutes left in the second.  The Titans took a 37-10 lead into the half.

The second half belonged to Kendall Braaten with 9 of her 15 points coming in those 16 minutes of action.  Kierney Murphy had 6 of her 10 points in the second half as well as the Titans went on to cruise to a 62-28 when it was all over. The Blue Streaks made a brief run to cut the lead to 40-17 but it wasn’t nearly enough.
