Berea-Midpark Triumphs Over Lakewood 48-19

On a beautiful crisp Fall evening, the Berea-Midpark football team defeated Lakewood in an Southwestern Conference battle by a final score of 48-19 in George Finnie Stadium.
Offensively for the Orange and Blue, sophomore quarterback Luke Devins completed 16 of 21 passes for 240 yards and four touchdowns.

Sophomore running back Aquan Bell led the ground attack as he rushed for a career-high 146 yards on 19 carries, including a 57 yard touchdown to open the scoring for Berea-Midpark. Sophomore wide out DeAngelo Borders led the receiving corps with six catches for 94 yards and a score.

Defensively, the Titans held the Rangers to only 14 first downs and 368 total yards of offense. The defensive line created havoc for Lakewood Quarterback Jack Wilhelmy often, as Berea-Midpark recorded a season high five sacks on the night.

Senior linebacker Beau Bachie led Berea-Midpark with a game-high six tackles. Senior defensive back Nolan Eschuk tallied his first interception of the season and recorded two tackles.

Leading by only five at the half, Berea-Midpark overwhelmed the Rangers through the air in the third quarter, with Devins dishing out three of the Titans four touchdowns on the quarter.

Brandt Eckerfield, Jack Arnold and Borders all caught touchdown passes, while sophomore wide out Devin Johnson took a few snaps at running back and scurried 10 yards for a score in the third quarter.

UP NEXT
The Titans will make their final road voyage of the 2019 season on Friday October 25th when they travel to Midview to battle the Middies. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
