The Berea-Midpark Titans showed several times this season that when their three young guards our shooting well, they are tough to beat. That was once again the case tonight as Courtney Simon had 7, Lauren Yee had 11 and Talyssa Moody led the Titans with 15. They combined for 33 of their teams 47 points.
When those three are cooking and then you mix in the overall hardwork of seniors Lyndsey Seballos and Athena Sevastos, mixed in with the down low presence of Jenna Byzcnski, and this team becomes a serious threat to make a deep tournament run. Byzcnski has shown that she can defend as well as she can score.
This Berea-Midpark team came in as the 14th seed which pretty much blew my mind. That are far better than that and will use that as motivation. I expect a full on battle Tuesday in Strongsville.
The Titans will now go on to take on Strongsville Tuesday night in the next round.
