Bedford Bearcats with a 35-0 Win Over Garfield Hts

The scoring started halfway through the 1st quarter when the Bearcats put together a 3-play, 76 yard TD drive in just 21 seconds.

Quarterback Kent Staten capped off the drive with his first of two passing touchdowns. This one coming to duel threat Wide Receiver/Defensive Back Zionte Williams.

Staten’s second of three total touchdowns on the night would come on the ground with 3:34 left in the first quarter and it looked like a very quick blowout was in store.

But that was not the case as Garfield Heights were able to put some drives together thanks to Running Back JaMarrion Banks.

Banks would pretty much make up the Bulldogs entire offense on the night accounting for 188 rushing yards on the night.

As for the Bearcats, Williams would have a record setting 101-yard interception returned for a touchdown as it was just 4 yards short of a school record.

Bedford would head into the first half with a 21-0 lead just in time for the homecoming festivities.

The second half was pretty much the same and the game slowed down even more as even Bedford was struggling on offense in the third quarter.

But the Bearcats would essentially put the game away with two touchdowns coming just under 4 minutes apart in the fourth quarter.

The first one would be a 26-yard pass from Staten to running back Rayshon Duncan.

While the final touchdown would be their second defensive score of the night after they recover a bad snap fumble at the Bulldogs goal line.

It was a heck of a night for the Bedford Bearcats with the 35-0 shutout win over rival Garfield Heights.

The Player of the Game would have to go to Garfield Heights’ JaMarrion Banks.

Although I typically give it to the winning team, Banks was by far the best athlete on the field tonight with 188 rushing yards on just 17 carries.
