Bebie Has Big Night As Rocky River Defeats Lakewood

The Pirates hit the ground running and never look back as they finish off Lakewood 38-6 to go to 1 and 3. While Lakewood drops to 2 and 2 after an impressive showing against Bay Village last week. Coach Wells and the Pirates are determined to win.

 

Rocky River started off the first quarter strong and do not let up until halftime. The Pirates pushed down the field on their first drive with a steady diet of Johnny Bebie rushing and connections from Julian Patti. Bebie rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown on the first drive to go up on the Rangers 7-0.

 

The Pirates end their second possession with a Bebie touchdown being called back because of a holding call. The next play Patti overthrew his receiver and his pass was picked off by Josh Bohurjak. Lakewood failed to capitalize, however, starting the drive with another false start and ending it with a pass intercepted by Josh Mommers.

 

Rocky River started the second quarter with the ball on the Lakewood 15 yard line, all it took was 1 play and a 15 yard rush from Bebie to take it to the house taking River up 14-0.Lakewood’s Alex Symons connected on a huge pass to Don Mikuluk for 32 yards to set up a 19 yard pass to Nick Patsouras for the Lakewood touchdown.

 

Rocky River added to their lead with a 23 yard touchdown run from Bebie increasing their lead 21-6. Rocky River capped the half off with a 15 yard field goal, finishing the first half up 24-6.

 

The Pirates would score one more time and rool from there for the win.

 

Next week the Rangers head to Parma to play Normandy. While Rocky River will head back home to host 3-1 Elyria Catholic.
