Bay Rockets put up ten runs in the first on its way to a 16-3 victory over Fairview HS on Wednesday. The offensive onslaught by the Rockets was led by Katherine Shuster, Sarah Haymond, Grace Pierce, Abbey McCready, Katie Mold, and Maddy Steckel, who all drove in runs.
Bay Rockets opened up scoring in the first inning. The Rockets scored two runs when Katherine Shuster singled.
Pierce was on the rubber for Bay. The bulldog surrendered three runs on one hit over five innings, striking out four.
R Carey was in the circle for Fairview HS. Carey lasted one-third of an inning, allowing three hits and seven runs while striking out one. A Barhart threw four and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.
Bay Rockets totaled 14 hits in the game. Haymond, Mold, Katherine Shuster, McCready, and Pierce all had multiple hits for Bay. Mold and Haymond all had three hits to lead the Rockets.
S Todd went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Fairview HS in hits.
