Baldwin Wallace University won 3-0 in victory over Hiram College, improving their overall record to 3-1.

Set 1

Baldwin Wallace University and Hiram College showcased powerful offenses with the teams to capitalize of every opportunity. Defense is also a powerhouse from both teams striking back whenever a chance arrives.

Coming into the first match, Baldwin Wallace University was a force to be reckoned with as both the offense and the defense were strong and reactive to Hiram’s plays. In a matter of time, Baldwin Wallace led match one with 25-16 against Hiram College, thanks to all the starters contributing.

Set 2

A different tone was set in match two as Hiram came out strong causing Baldwin Wallace to trail in a couple of points. The crowd was filled with anticipation as Hiram took a commanding lead in the second match. Hiram’s defense was ruthless to Baldwin Wallace’s offense, but soon came to a stop when Baldwin Wallace’s player, #26 Josie Lynn, tied the game when it was her turn to spike. This led to Baldwin Wallace winning in match two 25-20.

Set 3

In match three, both teams came out scoring rapidly to be tied within minutes, but Baldwin Wallace was out for the win, making substitutions of players. BW’s #17 India Woodson was substituted in the game and blocked the net almost immediately to give them an early four-point lead. Hiram attempted to come back with their power offense but failed to do so and Baldwin Wallace took another victory in match three ending with 25-15.

Even though Hiram lost to Baldwin Wallace, they still finished strong with #22 Brooke Norris delivering powerful spikes until the end.

After the match Baldwin Wallace’s head coach, Kate Latkovic said, “BW’s powerful and reactive defense are the highlighted moments for today’s game.”

 Latkovic plans to build on offense and be stronger at practice for their next match. She also stated, “The team’s overall performance today was great. The players did everything great for this match.”
