Avon Soars Past North Ridgeville Under The Friday Night Lights

Kee On Sports relies on the generous support of their sponsors to survive and continue to be one of the premier sources for High School Sports content. We are still very much in need for sponsorship funding for the final 14 weeks of 2021. If you own a small business, or know anyone who does, please have them contact Vince McKee at coachvin14@yahoo.com to talk about what we can do for you.

Avon jumped all over North Ridgeville, as they demonstrated that they can beat you in multiple ways. Both their Offense and Defense were able to make plays that help put away the Rangers early.

After a quick 3 and out to start the game, Avon Quarterback Sam Detillio was able to find wide receiver Tim Conwell for a 29 yard touchdown catch. The Eagles defense would force another punt which led to another 63 yard touchdown pass to Ethan Holbrook. Detillio had 98 passing yard and 2 touchdowns by the end of the first quarter.

Soon, The Eagles defense turned it up a notch. They were able to force two interceptions, one being returned for a touchdown by Joe Roesch. Detillio would throw a touchdown pass to Ryan Ptacek, who also was the defender that made the other interception. After that, Detillio would throw another 8 yard touchdown right before the half to receiver Drew Lindsay.

At half, Avon led 38-0. Detillio had 200 yards and 4 passing touchdowns with 3 different receivers catching touchdown passes.

Detillio was done after the first half, but the Eagles were not. The second half started just like the first with a 68 yard kick return for a touchdown.

Avon running back Mustafa Khayat would add another touchdown, finishing with 98 yards and a touchdown. For North Ridgeville running back Dom Farago would find the end one twice in the second half, he finished with 69 yards and two touchdowns. The final score was 51-13, Avon controlling the game the whole way.

Next week Avon looks to continue their play against Olmsted Falls, while North Ridgeville looks to bounce back against Elyria.

The player of the game was Avon Quarterback Sam Detillio, who went 6/8 for 124 yards and 4 touchdowns.
