Sophomore Jack Arnold caught six passes for 49 yards and a touchdown, but the Berea-Midpark football team lost to defending Southwestern Conference Co-Champion Avon, 49-13, at Joe Firment Stadium.
In addition to Arnold for Berea-Midpark on offense, the Titans utilized a two quarterback system where senior quarterback Chase Ivancic completed 8 of 11 passes for 122 yards. Sophomore QB Luke Devins was 11 of 25 for 107 yards and a touchdown.
Fellow sophomore wide receiver Devin Johnson hauled in three catches for 73 yards while senior running back Brandt Eckerfield led the Titans rushing attack with eight carries for 20 yards and a touchdown in the second quarter.
The Berea-Midpark defense was led by junior linebacker Kade Swisher with seven tackles and Ivancic with six.
For Avon, senior QB Danny Zeh completed 16 of 26 passes for 169 yards and a touchdown. The running game was led by senior Nick Perusek who gained 138 yards on 16 attempts, finding the endzone three times for the Eagles. The receiving corps were led by senior WR Joey Lance with four catches for 70 yards and a TD.
