Head girls basketball coach at Avon High School, Meghan Larrick, has stepped down effective this week. Larrick began coaching in Avon 16 years ago, and became the Varsity head coach 13 years ago. She leaves with a 190-111 lifetime record there, and the program headed in an incredible direction.
Larrick, who played college ball at JCU, has had the privilege to work with some of the best talent in the area over the past few years. The new coach will be taking over a talented roster as well, led by such talent as Brooke Laub, Sarai Kittelberger, Natalie Santoro, Molly Denik and Anna Fitch just to name a few.
Head coach Larrick has been blessed with two beautiful little girls and that weighed heavy into her decision as she states here, “The opportunity to coach in Avon and be a part of one of the most passionate and loving communities has brought me some of the most rewarding moments in my life. Avon Girls Basketball will always hold a very special place in my heart.
I have made the decision to step down as the head coach to maximize and cherish my time with my young family. My daughters Lucy (6) and Laney (3) are growing up fast and I do not want to miss these times with them. My family has always been my #1 motivation. Whether it was from my years of playing or all the games that I have coached, my family has always been my #1 fans and I will always love them for that!
Any media member values a good relationship with a coach, and Meghan Larrick was exactly that and more for Kee On Sports since it’s inception in 2018. On behalf of myself and our entire staff, we want to thank her, congratulate her on a great career, and wish her all the best with those two beautiful little girls.
And hey Coach, if you are ever missing the game too much, come out one night and we can put you on color commentary!
God Bless!
