Awful in 2020, these teams will be improved and playoff bound in 2021
Dallas – Go ahead and laugh,,,,, are you done yet? Ok. The Cowboys possess the talent and weapons to be one of the most explosive offenses in NFL history. I see no possible way a team with Dak Prescott, Zeke Elliot, Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, Cedrick Wilson Jr and an improved defense through the draft doesn’t make the playoffs.
Furthermore, their division is the worst in the NFL, they should cruise to the postseason. You may have your doubts about head coach Mike McCarthy and I believe we all do, but at least give him a full season with healthy Dak Prescott and let’s see if he can learn from his mistakes.
SF – Quite frankly, the 49ers are once again a serious threat to become an elite team in the NFL. Last year they were savaged by injuries and still finished 6-10. If they can find a way to stay healthy and avoid a QB controversy, they will win double digit games this year and compete for the division.
They still have one of the best defenses on paper. People knock Jimmy G at QB, but he is a proven winner, just look at his record. With a running back room that is 3 deep and a coaching staff that is one of the most creative in the NFC, it is impossible not to take SF very serious heading into this season.
Minnesota – The Vikings had a sharp decline in 2020 after some departures on the defensive side of the ball. They still managed to go 7-9 but struggled to put together any consistent wins. The started November with three straight wins, but anything outside of that tiny bubble was tough to come by success.
Mike Zimmer is a good head coach who can stair his team through rough water, but the problem they face is the cold reality that Kirk Cousins is not elite. The NFC North will be weak this year outside of Green Bay, so I think the Vikings can feast on a light schedule, and run Dalvin Cook enough to sneak into the playoffs.
Nick Chubb is the # 1 back in the N.F.L.
