Well, it may seem crazy, but as a rookie, head coach Kevin Stefanski turned to DTR 3 separate times to start games. This included home starts against division rivals Baltimore and Pittsburgh. DTR followed an amazing college career that saw him toss 88 touchdown passes as a full-time starter in at UCLA. He was then the star of 2023 Cleveland Browns training camp as he tore it up in pre-season. Reality hit quick for DTR however in his first start against Baltimore.
Still, even with that being said, this is a system that fits his style perfectly and he might be the best long-term option for Cleveland at backup. If not at back-up, perhaps they sneak him on the practice squad.
