Amherst Defeats Sandusky 48-6 to Start the Season

AVON LAKE, OH – The game was played at Avon Lake stadium and not Amherst, but it did nothing to slow down the soaring Comets in their dominant win over Sandusky. New quarterback Cy Christensen ran for two touchdowns and threw for two more in his debut as a Comet.  The former Clearview Clipper was hitting on every stride.

The Comets will now travel to Buckeye next weekend for a little CWC vs SWC action.

Score 1 – Cy Christensen 76 yard touchdown pass to Cael Charles on the first play of the game.

Up 7-6, they struck again when Cy Christensen passed to  Cael Charles for a 5 yard Touchdown.

At the 9:20 mark of the second quarter, they scored again when Michael Passerrello ran it in for a 7 Yard Touchdown.

With 5:55 left in the opening half, Peyton Gilles scored on a 6 yard touchdown run to extend the Comet lead to 28-6.

The Comets scored again in the closing seconds of the first half when Cy Christensen scored on a 15 Yard Run to lead 35-6 at the break.

Less then 90 seconds into the second half, Cy Christensen scored on a 22 yard run.

Finally, it was Landon Johnson finishing the Comet attack when he scored on a 17 yard run with 4:44 left in the contest.
