All Six AEW World Champions Ranked

2nd

Kenny Omega

1 reign for 346 days

The longest single run as AEW World Champion, as the owner of the “One Winged Angel”, nearly made it an entire year.  The smart money had he not been so banged up, is that he would have defended it successfully against Page at Full Gear 2021.

Omega was truly the breakout star AEW needed him to be to the casual fan who was just learning of him when the company started.  We all knew it was only a matter of time before he held the big gold.  Omega, stopped the 277 first title reign of Jon Moxley on an episode of Dynamite in December of 2000.

He defended it successfully against Moxley, Christian Cage, Orange Cassidy, PAC and a host of other men, including some Impact jobbers.  Speaking of which, perhaps the biggest thing he did while champion was instantly spark interest in the dying Impact product, keeping it afloat by appearing there and defeating Rich Swann for the Impact World Championship while still carrying the AEW belt.

I’ve said it once, and I will go “All In” on this bet, what Shawn Michaels was to WWF, Omega will be to AEW as he is that damn good.
