After 45-7 Loss to New England The Problem With The Browns Is Clear

The problem with the Browns is clear after a 45-7 loss to the New England Patriots on the road today. They have one of the worst defenses in the NFL that cannot get off the field on third down.  Joe Woods needs to go as he is out of chances in my book.

And yes, I think Myles Garrett is the best defensive player in the NFL.  Garret may  get  held on almost every snap, however, they need to figure out a way for others to pressure the QB considering he gets double teamed. Their are no excuses any more as Woods has had two seasons to create a better scheme.

After having the ball for 8 drives, the Patriots held a 44-7 lead. They scored on 7 of their first 8 drives of the game and the Browns had no answers.  The Pats went on scoring drives of 83, 99, 92 and 95 yards.  This was given up to a rookie quarterback and backup running back.

It wouldn’t have mattered if they had Chubb, Hunt, OBJ or the second coming of Walter Payton himself, this Browns defense will prevent them from going to the playoffs this year. Just take a look at the numbers below.

Drive One – 15 plays, 83 yards and a Mac Jones 3 yard touchdown passed to Hunter Henry.

Drive Two – 1 play, 5 yards and a Rhamondre Stevenson touchdown run.

Drive Three – 11 plays, 99 yards and a Mac Jones 23 yard touchdown pass to Kendrick Bourne.

Drive Four – 11 plays, 47 yards and a 38 yard field goal.

Drive Five – Punt

Drive Six – 8 plays, 92 yards and two-yard Rhamondre Stevenson touchdown run.

Drive Seven – 6 plays, 37 yards and a 3-yard touchdown pass from Mac Jones to Hunter Henry.

Drive Eight – With Mac Jones now out of the game, 6 plays, 95 yards and a Brian Hoyer to Jakobi Meyers 11-yard touchdown catch.

How about these stats to go along with that.

Mac Jones went 19 of 23 for 198 yards and 3 TD’s

Brian Hoyer, on his first drive, went 3 of 3 for 85 yards with  TD.

Backup running back Rhamondre Stevenson, 100 yards on 20 carries with 2 TD’s
