- Baltimore Ravens
Predicted record: 7-9
What happened to the Ravens defenses that used to be scary to go up against? That’s not the case anymore because I actually find myself laughing at this roster.
How do some people actually believe this team is going to have a chance to win the AFC North? Maybe the secondary is okay with Earl Thomas and Tony Jefferson but no offense will fear going up against Baltimore.
I wouldn’t trust Lamar Jackson with throwing me anything. He has a decent arm but I don’t trust his accuracy, especially when teams start to sit back in coverage more than last year.
Many claim that Jackson proved he can be something but here’s why I disagree. Last season teams were preparing for Joe Flacco and then the Ravens made the switch to Lamar. Those are two very different quarterback styles.
Flacco is the big pocket passer and Jackson is a runner and very shifty. Without having game film of Jackson in the Ravens scheme, it’s hard to properly prepare to go up against him. This season will be different.
Everyone knows he is the guy and will make sure they have a good game plan to deal with his quickness. Rather than trying to get in the backfield, simply containing Jackson in the pocket will cause him some problems.
Athleticism is what he needs to succeed but forcing him to read the game like a traditional quarterback will be his downfall.
