Cleveland Browns: Does Cleveland Have The Best Wide Receiver Group In The NFL?

AFC Power Rankings 2.0

  1. Buffalo Bills

Predicted record: 8-8

What’s with all the Bills and Josh Allen hate? Is everyone missing the fact that this team destroyed the draft in April and did amazing things in free agency?

I would especially think Browns fans can see what is actually happening with the Bills because Cleveland was in the same situation last season… just one step away.

For so long the Patriots have been known as the power of the AFC East just as the Steelers have been with the North. Everyone saw the Steelers beginning to have issues and the Browns were knocking on the door waiting for their chance to jump at grabbing the division.

That year might be this year for the Browns and the Bills are hoping the next two years present the same opportunity for them.

Everyone knows Tom Brady’s end time is nearing but if Bill Belichick makes a surprise move and leaves the Patriots the structure could crumble. The Bills front office has put their team in a position to compete soon.

Last year Josh Allen had to run the ball more than a team would like their franchise quarterback to run it. Now I know people question me calling him a franchise quarterback but the fact is Allen didn’t have much to work with last year.

This guy has a cannon for an arm, is big, strong and tough. His mobility helps him keep plays alive as well. That offensive line in front of him has drastically improved with the addition of veteran center Mitch Morse and drafting right tackle Cody Ford out of Oklahoma.

Allen will have more time to work in the pocket and find new receivers Cole Beasley and John Brown. Yes, Josh Allen actually has receivers we have heard of this year.

Tight ends Tyler Kroft and rookie Dawson Knox will also add value in the blocking game and receiving game. The craziest thing about this offense though is the amount of depth in the backfield. Shady McCoy will get the most carries but expect to see Frank Gore, T.J. Yeldon and rookie Devin Singletary also touch the rock.

Buffalo’s defense also got better. Drafting defensive tackle Ed Oliver is crucial. Oliver was the best pass rushing interior lineman in this past draft class.

The Bills also got plenty of defensive depth from this draft and one of the biggest diamonds in the rough in my opinion is linebacker Vosean Joseph. Joseph needed to take better angles in college but if he improves that his upside is immense.

He is so athletic and one of the fastest in-game linebackers in recent times. Expect him to get some playing time behind the talented Tremaine Edmunds and Lorenzo Alexander.

The Bills are about ready to circle the wagons and win the East in the next few years.
