AEW Revolution 2022 Results and Reaction

Legit Layla Hirsch pinned Kris Stalander

Reaction –  Statlander remains winless on PPV while AEW does the smart thing and gets Hirsch a muh needed win.  She needs the push and this will help her on her way.  No one cares about Kris Statlander.

Hook submitted QT Marshal

Reaction –  They continue to build Hook as a “mini” Monster.  Meanwhile, with Cody no longer around to protect QT Marshal in the lineup, his days are numbered in AEW.

House of Black pinned Pac, Penta and Erick Redbeard Rowan

Reaction – House of Black is just too damn cool not to root for.  Pac and Penta are both dynamic in the ring but Erick Redbeard is nothing more than a cheap pop. Excited to see how far House of Black can go.

Eddie Kingston submitted Chris Jericho

Reaction – EXCELLENT match to kick off the PPV portion of the night.  Cool move by Jericho to put over Kingston by submitting cleanly.  Also, smart business move for everyone involved.  The fact that Chris Jericho refused to shake hands afterwards leads me to believe this feud is just getting its legs.

Jurassic Express defends the Tag Championships successfully over the Young Bucks and Red Dragon.

Reaction – This further lies the foundation for a future split of Adam Cole, Fisch and O’Reilly from having anything to do with the Elite. This division is so incredibly loaded that it was no shock that this match was amazing.  Who Jurassic Express fights next is anyone’s guess but this match proves they are worthy of wearing the straps.

Wardlow wins the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match

Reaction – It’s impossible not to feel good about this one. The entire Wardlow & MJF combination is vintage Shawn Michaels & Diesel from the mid 90’s that worked so well.  Wardlow deserves this push as he has been with AEW from their early days of Dynamite and has worked his butt off for this push.

AEW has plenty of “Monsters”, guys like Archer, Hobbes, Brian Cage, Jake Hager and Keith Lee just to name a few, but none with the charisma and overall ability that a Wardlow brings to the dance!

Also, I must shout out Orange Cassidy who took some incredible bumps in this match.  Full props to Cassidy who did most of the bumping in this one.  Also, while I admit I’m not a big Keith Lee fan, I have to admit he looked great tonight too. EXCELLENT LADDER MATCH!

Jade Cargill pins Tay Conti to retain her TBS Championship

Reaction – Cargill looked incredible tonight, both in the ring and out of it.  The kiss to get the match started was unexpected but proved to be one of Conti’s few highlights in the match.  The time for Conti to be competing for titles is not yet here, AEW would be wise to refrain from giving her more title matches.  She is just not ready yet.

CM Punk Pins MJF

This match provided the blood everyone expected along with the drama and heat.  It also gave everyone the long awaited face turn of Wardlow we all hoped for!  The match was good enough without Wardlow, but his appearance was the cherry on top of an incredible Sundae!

I predicted the fans would be the winners in this match, and they sure were!  This night will go down as Wardlows coming out party!  No one had a better night!

Dr. Britt Baker retains her Women’s Championship over Thunder Rosa

Reaction – This match never had a chance in front of a dead crowd.  It was simple, the fans had nothing left after a near 30-minute blowout of CM Punk vs MJF.  It was smart  to have Baker go over however, because now it sets up the Rubber Match down the road between the two.

Jon Moxley defeats Bryan Danielson by pinfall

Reaction – A great match with a smart decision to put Moxley over.  It was a bloodbath which was not a surprise, but having William Regal show up and force them to shake hands, certainly was a shock!

Sting, Sammy & Darby Allin defeat Andrade, Matt Hardy and Isiah Kassidy

Reaction – Sting jumped off the balcony through three tables and a heap of humanity!  That combined with a Jeff Hardy name drop by Jim Ross was exciting!  In the end, it was a match filled with high spots that will eventually lead to a Matt Hardy face turn complete with Hardy Boys reunion.

Hangman Page defeats Adam Cole to retain the AEW World Championship

Reaction – Slightly overbooked with a lot of people getting involved, but overall a damn good match.  Hangman Page is slowly starting to show that he can carry the promotion as champion.  I wonder when we get the rematch with him and Omega?

As for Impact Sacrifice Last night….

These four surprised me big time. Did they surprise you too? #ImpactWrestling #IMPACTonAXSTV #Sacrifice
