AEW Double or Nothing 2025 Preview and Predictions

The AEW Memorial Day Weekend tradition continues Sunday as they produce Double or Nothing 2025 from Glendale, Arizona at the Desert Diamond Arena.  Let’s get to the predictions and reasons why we feel that way.

Owen Hart Memorial Tournament on the Women’s Side – Jamie Hayter vs Mercedes Mone

Prediction – Mercedes Mone

Reason for the pick –  For the longest time I thought Mone would lose in the Owen Final, and then that person who I did believe would be Hayter, would then challenge her at All In for her TNT Women’s Championship and win.  It seemed like the natural course.  Now, AEW has thrown a monkey wrench into that plan by allowing the winner of this tournament to challenge for the AEW Women’s Championship and have been teasing a Storm vs Mone explosion for weeks now. With that, Hayter gets screwed and will do the job here.

Owen Hart Memorial Tournament on the Men’s Side – Hangman Adam Page vs Will Ospreay

Prediction – Ospreay

Reason for the pick – This has the potential to be match of the year, or one giant bust.  My money is on the former as these are easily two of AEW’s best.  The promo battle on Dynamite this past Wednesday was gold, and further showed just how much this match means to both of them,  All the signs point to Ospreay winning and challenging for the gold at All In.  He will be the one to “bring it home” to AEW once again.

The Hurt Syndicate vs The Son’s of Texas

Prediction – The Hurt Syndicate

Reason for the pick –  Dusty Rhodes, Terry Funk, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Dirty Dick Murdoch and now Sammy Guevara as Texas legends?  Wait, what? Sammy?  Why does Goldust always seem so angry in every single promo by the way?  The ONLY intrigue in this entire angle is how MJF gets involved somehow and someway.

Timeless Toni Storm defends her AEW Women’s Championship vs Mina Shirakawa

Prediction – Storm

Reason for the pick –  Storm wins to set up dream match with her and Mone at All In.  AEW could have all of this work out perfectly at All In with Storm and Ospreay standing tall as champions at the end of the night. TK, make it happen!

FTR vs Daniel Garcia & Nigel McGuiness

Prediction – FTR

Reason for the pick –  Remember Edge?  Man oh man, was that guy great?!  This cracks me up, WWE has Pat McCafee defend Michael Cole so they play the same angle with Nigel McGuiness and Garcia sticking up for Tony Schiavone.  This whole angle is garbage and FTR remains legends in their own mind as the most overrated tag team I have ever seen.

Mark Briscoe vs Ricochet

Prediction – Ricochet

Reason for the pick –  Ricochet has found a home in AEW as the promotion fits his style perfectly.  I’d be surprised if they have him lose here. There is zero reason to push Toothless Willy.

Anarachy in the Arena Match

Prediction – The Death Riders

Reason for the pick –  Keeping the Riders strong will continue to add credibility to a Jon Moxley World Championship run that has lacked it at times.  Or, do we a get a Bryan Danielson return him to help the good guys?  This shouldn’t be the main event, but sadly, it will be.

Kazuchika Okada defends his AEW Continental Championship vs Speedball Mike Bailey

Prediction – Okada

Reason for the pick –  Bailey makes him earn it, but the writing is already on the wall for a Okada vs Kenny Omega unification match at All In in July as two pointless titles will be become one pointless title, but it should lead to one of the greatest matches in company history when the two hook it up, so that is something to look forward too.

Paragon ( The Undisputed ERA ) vs The Don Callis Family

Prediction – The Don Callis Family

Reason for the pick –  This needs to be Josh Alexanders coming out party at the national level of AEW PPV.  Alexander is the real deal and by having him run through Paragon and pinning Adam Cole cleanly, would set up a great match between the two at All In in July for Cole’s TNT Championship.  The Callis family NEEDS to win this match and Alexander NEEDS to look strong doing it!
