Bay Village took the opening possession right down the field but failed to score.  Cleary hit 4 different receivers on his way to the redzone but couldn’t punch it in as the Patriot defense made a nice stop. The Patriots responded with a 19-play drive, covering nearly 80 yards but it ended in disaster with a tipped interception pass on fourth down inside the redzone. This kept the game scoreless with 1:05 left. The game went to the second scoreless as well.

Bay went back to the air attack on their second drive and Cleary hooked up with Ethan Sedivec several times, the final blow coming on a 34-yard touchdown pass as they converted a fourth and long to score. A two-point conversion was good, and Bay Village took an 8-0 lead with 10:46 to play in the second quarter.

The Patriots wasted no time responding with a nice mix of run and pass as they moved into Bay Village territory quickly.  They hit the scoreboard for the first time on a 42-yard strike to Soto who got nice separation between himself and the defender to speed down the sidelines. This made it 8-6 in favor of the Rockets with 8:59 to play in the first half.

A 26-yard touchdown pass to Beggs helped Bay increase the lead to 15-6 with 8:03 to play in the first half.  After a scoreless first quarter, the second quarter opened up with 21 points in just over 3 minutes. There weren’t any points to follow in the quarter however and the game went to half with the Rockets still up 15-6 on the Patriots.

The Patriots were aided by a great kickoff return, personal foul and punishing run game to open up the second half on the move.  The Patriots set up shop with a first and goal from the Rocket 8 yard line when Purcell took it himself to score. This inched the Patriots closer, moving the score to 15-13 Rockets with 8:19 to play.

A 35-yard touchdown pass to Beggs only a few moments later increased the Rocket lead back out to 22-13.  The Rockets then proceeded to convert an onside kick and take over again on the Patriot 33-yard line. They drive stalled with an interception by Jeffrey Shannon.  Keeping the Patriots in it.

The Rockets scored to open the fourth quarter on a 32-yard Field goal from Griffin Rupe to increase their lead to 25-13 with 10:06 to play in the game. The Rockets went on to win 25-13.

This improves the Rockets to 2-6 on the season while the Patriots fall to 1-7.  Bay Village will look to stay hot next week as they host Westlake.  Valley Forge looks to bounce back as they travel to Lakewood.
