From the opening minutes, Bay consistently pressured North Olmsted’s defense and created several scoring opportunities. The Rockets moved the ball effectively and kept most of the action on North Olmsted’s side of the field. Bay recorded 17 shots in the opening half while preventing the Eagles from attempting a shot.
Bay scored with 35:19 remaining in the first half when Madelyn Lee found the back of the net off an assist from Alex Linsenmeyer, giving the Rockets a 1-0 lead. Just over two minutes later, Hannah Vegh scored to extend the advantage to 2-0.
The Rockets continued adding to their lead when Ada Kurinsky scored with 25:47 remaining in the half. Lily Kazma then scored off an assist from Anna Weingart with 21:02 left, sending Bay into halftime with a 4-0 lead.
Despite the score, North Olmsted’s Brigid Grabowski made several saves and prevented Bay from adding even more goals. She recorded 13 saves during the first half as Bay continued to create chances around the net.
Bay carried its momentum into the second half and quickly added another goal. Aley Fetterman scored with 38:51 remaining to increase the Rockets’ lead to 5-0. Issi Bruno then scored off an assist from Ada Kurinsky with 26:08 left before scoring again less than three minutes later.
North Olmsted created two scoring opportunities during the second half, but Bay goalkeeper Caitie Petersen made one save to help preserve the shutout. The Eagles were unable to turn either opportunity into a goal.
Bay finished the game with a 35-2 advantage in total shots. North Olmsted’s Brigid Grabowski recorded nine more saves in the second half, finishing the game with 22 total saves. However, Bay’s ability to maintain possession and consistently create opportunities ultimately led the Rockets to the 7-0 win.
