Avon Lake has such a nice community, filled with giving people who care about one another. I love Avon Lake. One of my favorite things about the city is their attention to the youth and always improving things to make life more fun for the kiddo’s. Weiss Field is a prime example of this as it continues to be a staple of the McKee Family Summer Park Tour.
We like this park a lot because we are a baseball obsessed family and this park exudes it. It has plenty of places for parents to sit in the shade and have a great view of their kids on the playground. The baseball themed playground is truly awesome and it has the Maroon and Gold colors of Avon Lake all over it.
Perhaps best of all is the soft padding instead of that nasty mulch at the playground. It also has indoor plumbing and plenty of spots to sit and have lunch. A great park we highly recommend.
Here are just a few of the many specs that make it great!
- Ball Fields: 11 baseball and softball fields used for local leagues and games.
- Recreation: A baseball-themed playground, basketball court, bike and skate park, horse arena, and walking trails.
- Amenities: A fenced-in dog park with separate areas for large and small dogs, concession stands, restrooms, and two rentable pavilions (Pavilion A and Pavilion B).
- Community Events: Serves as the site for Avon Lake’s annual Fourth of July fireworks
